Adepticon Infinity Tournament 2012

So I wanted to say that I had a blast at Adepticon. I had tons of fun, some great gaming opportunities, and a time to just let go of all those nasty responsibilities that tend to hang me up back at home. Unfortunately, once I flew back in on Monday, all those responsibilities came flooding back, hence the slight delay in posting these Battle Reports.

First off, regarding the Infinity tournament on Sunday, the TO did an amazing job of staying organized and staying on top of it. He was affable, friendly, forthcoming with information and courteous with any criticism. He absolutely deserves two thumbs up for his efforts, as do his judges. I’ll admit, sometimes I did not like their rulings, but they did their jobs flawlessly. Being a TO is a thankless job, so here I am thanking them for their hard work.

I will be posting the individual battle reports as I finish them one by one. Below is the list that I decided to bring.

9 Orders, 7 Irregular, 2 Regular

I would never say this was a “good” list. This was a gamble for two reasons:

1. It’s clear to anyone who knows Caledonians, or Ariadna, who the lieutenant is. Not only that, but Wallace is the lynchpin of the army, with Inspiring Leadership. If he dies, or causes a wound, not only am I in Loss of Lieutenant, I am also mostly Irregular, which can be a bother.

2. Highlander Caterans are glass tigers. They have some amazing killing capabilities, but with ARM 0 and only mimetism, they need to be super careful.

In the end, my army performed as well as I would have expected. It fell apart on the third game, but I’ll get to that later. On to the battle reports!
